The 6th WWNA conference, significantly titled "Designing the Future", emerged in response to the need for more engaged anthropologists to stimulate new ideas, propose well-founded research-based solutions, taking into account the socio-cultural context. Focusing on the emerging field of Design Anthropology, the opportunities arising from a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach for the disciplines of Design and Anthropology were discussed, based on applied projects.

The aim of the conference was to communicate the importance of applied (design) anthropology and the human sciences to a broad audience, both inside and outside academia, and to promote discussion and debate among participants at different points during the event. It took place on October 26 and 27, 2018, with approximately 400 participants from different disciplines around the world.

We used Design as a discursive element to value the convergence of these two areas: the human capacity to create, analyze, and connect different ideas, stories, and cultures. In this way, we explored the diversity of typographical elements in the visual signature with the aim of representing a metaphor for the singularities and diversities of people. The types of fonts, the types of people, the types of cultures.

Exploring handwritten markings, the personality of strokes and paths, we worked on a flexible identity element that helps with identification even when communications change. In addition to creating a visual language marked by real textures and layers, aiming to maximize sensations and the most tangible aspect of design.

The 6th WWNA conference featured an impactful aesthetic that represents different ways of interpreting and questioning, valuing experimentation and creativity in building a better future, with people at the center.
