Context & Challenge
O Canto da Banda was an event held by the Sociedade Musical Fraternidade Cordeirense at Expo Cordeiro, one of the most important cultural moments in the city. Designed to unite tradition and innovation, the event brought shows, roundtables, and gatherings that moved the community. The challenge was to create a visual identity that represented this diversity of experiences, transmitting energy, art, and belonging in a single system.
Diagnosis
During the immersion, it became clear that O Canto da Banda was not just a cultural program. It was, in fact, a movement to value the artistic scene and raise funds to keep alive the tradition of the century-old philharmonic band of Cordeiro. The identity needed to reflect this: an event that mixes music, gatherings, diversity, and belonging, dialoguing both with the city's memory and with the contemporary public.
Strategy
The inspiration came from jazz and cubism, languages that mix rhythm, experimentation, and boldness. This combination translated into a colorful, geometric, and flexible visual identity that transmits energy and movement. The focus on wind instruments, which are the soul of the band and an essential part of the tradition, brought a direct connection to the story, but with a more modern and impactful perspective.
Language
The logo was built so that the letters integrated into the instrument, as if the name itself formed the corner. The prominent horn reinforces the connection between the event and the Sociedade Musical Fraternidade Cordeirense, bringing closeness and identity. The more intense color palette, along with the geometric shapes inspired by cubism, guaranteed versatility and visual strength, highlighting the project in different formats and channels.
Experience
There were nine days of the event, with more than 25 shows, 90 artists, 72 hours of live music, and 10 hours of roundtables. More than a thousand people were impacted and more than 50 workers generated income directly in this space. The visual identity was present in every detail, helping to consolidate the event as a cultural landmark for Cordeiro. O Canto da Banda celebrated music, and, moreover, strengthened an artistic scene that grows every day and promises to yield many fruits for the city.
